Do a search for Ariel Atom on YouTube and watch the first video. If you’ve ever driven a fast car, you probably laughed and smiled with our fearless BBC driver. The first time I saw this video I actually laughed out loud and said to myself “I’m buying one of those!”
The Ariel Atom is a piece of automotive artwork. According to the Ariel Atom Specs, the new Ariel Atom 3 is powered by a Honda K20 (used in an RSX and Civic SI) and uses a 6-speed tranny. Because the car only weighs 1,400 lbs the power to weight ratio is 4.7 lbs/bhp – 5.7 lbs/bhp depending on what options you choose. That’ll get you 0-60 in 3 seconds. That is scary, laugh out loud, give you butterflies in your belly fast.
To harness all that speed, the suspension is finely tuned with all custom parts to give the car the most balanced handling possible and with the open wheel frame, the driver can see the exact path the tires are going. The 4 piston calipers used for breaking provide massive stopping power. The Atom can go 0-100-0 mph in under 11 seconds. That’s what I like to call, a roller-coaster without the safety!
The base price of $65000 is a little high for a track day car, but if you were planning on getting a Viper, Vette, or GT-R or any other high performance car for the track, you should strongly consider giving the Atom a try!

What a cool car! Gotta love a manual!
I loved the Atom. Are they street legal in U.S.? If so put me on the list.
Believe it or not, you can order them with a package that makes them street legal. The biggest thing is making sure they have turn signals and rear view mirrors. Totally sweet!
Thank you much for that nice piece of text.
