I think you need more than just time and consistency in the extremely competitive online marketing blog niche that we write in today.
If you don’t have a great look, you’re going to need to do some major promoting and gain the approval of others in your niche to get noticed.
I found Top Rank Blog through a couple referring links. It took reading several articles on their site before I realized they had amazing content. Sadly, I brushed them off for a hurried up amateurs the firsts time I saw their site. Little did I know they are some A-list pros!

I’d say it’s the assumption that gets people in the most trouble. Interesting content to some people is of little interest to others unfortunately. Time and consistency once your demographic is understood are definitely the key features after the fact however :-)
