Today Props Blog is interviewing Leah Waddill.  She is a local model who specializes in high fashion, beauty, commercial, and runway modeling.  After today, Leah Will be conducting the following interviews with other models, photographers, and stylist.

Propsblog: Where are you from?

Leah: Currently living in Dallas, Texas.

PB: Where did you live before that?

Leah: I grew up in Philly and didn’t move to Dallas until 2 years ago.

PB: How long have you been modeling?

Leah: For around 9 years.  My first shoot was back in Philly.

PB: What is it like on the set of shoot?

Leah: Hectic! Hot!  There are so many lights on and so many people there, but it’s really fun.  You get to just goof off.  That’s when you get your best shots.

PB: What would people who work with you say about you?

Leah: That I’m passionate, fun, and dedicated to getting the shot…. And a little crazy.  It’s hard to shoot for 8 hours straight and not be kind of crazy.

PB: What was your favorite shoot and why?

Leah:  My favorite shot was for the Gansvoort Hotel in NYC.  It was a marketing shoot for Boutique Design Magazine.  Although the shoot took 12 hours, we were the first models to ever have a spread in the magazine, and it was great to shoot for the star studded Gansvoort (Brittany Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Beyonce are all known to favor this Hotel).

PB: Do you have any new shoots scheduled?  When can we expect to see new pictures?

Leah:  I will be doing a look book shoot on the 22nd for AlonDria.  The 30th I’m going to be shooting a swimsuit calendar in Austin.  I am also shooting with a great team at the beginning of September to be submitted to the North American Hairstyling Awards.  Besides that, Rein Suit just shot their pilot for VH1 and has talked about casting me for their show when it premiers which I am very excited about.  Of course I have small shoot here and there between the ones listed here.  I’ll try to keep Props Blog updated with my new work.

PB: Where can we see more pictures of your work?

Leah: www.modelmayhem.com/leahrogers

PB: Do you plan on starting your own website?

Leah:  I actually used to host my own site and recently bought www.leahwaddill.com and plan to have the hosting up for that within a few weeks.

PB: What tips do you have for someone who wants to get into modeling?

Leah:  Perseverance! The ones who make it are the ones that continue to push.  You don’t have to be signed with a huge agency, and you don’t have to be scouted by an agent when you’re out shopping with your mom (like all the stories).  Be true to yourself as far as whether you are realistic for commercial, high fashion, glamour, acting, beauty, lifestyle, etc.  The biggest mistake that people make is trying too hard to go for an area of modeling that they don’t meet the requirements for (i.e., a 5’4” model going for high fashion).  Also, if shoot doesn’t feel right, don’t do it!  If an agency doesn’t feel right, don’t sign.

PB: You’re so skinny, what (if anything) do you like to eat?

Leah: I’m like a rabbit, I love salad. Actually, my favorite thing is salmon salad with wing sauce for dressing.

PB: When you’re not modeling, what do you like to do?

Leah:  I like to shoot pool, play golf, go to a driving rage, or workout.  Honestly, I haven’t had a lot of free time lately.

PB: We heard you’re a little into cars.  What was your first car?  What is your dream car?

Leah:  My first car was a 2004 BMW M3 (Imola Red, 19” rims).  It was fast!  I don’t know that I have a dream car.  I know that I’ll end up with the new body style M5 at some point.  I’ve always kind of wanted a right hand drive import (Supra or Skyline).  Those are really the only three I’ve wanted.

PB: What type of music do you listen to? Favorite group?

Leah: Rock!  Older Metallica is probably my favorite.  Too bad they’ve sold out.

PB: Do you have any Pets?  If so tell us about them.

Leah:  I have 3 Australian Sheppard puppies.  They are so high maintenance right now!

PB: Any final worlds?

Leah: I’m really looking forward to doing future interviews with other models and photographers as well as other people in the fashion world.

Leah will be any questions you might have for her in the comment section.  She will also probably be responsible for most of the photography/modeling related interviews.
