Discovering sweet “underground” music is always a rewarding experience. For some reason, I couldn’t stop smiling the first time I heard messin with a guitar sound on YouTube. In fact, before you finish reading this post, start it playing in a new tab/window (if you’re not at work or in class). Don’t get thrown off by his cartoony (I made up a new word!) voice and unusual hat obsession; this guy LOVES music and has more fun playing the music than we do listening. I heard about Ronald Jenkees a little over a year ago, and it seems he has become increasingly popular since then getting recognition from several popular groups including Papa Roach. Apparently, my favorite ESPN writer Bill Simmons “the sports guy” also had Ronald do music for his podcast. I think I like them both more now… I guess with nearly 5 Million views on his most popular video and being the 24th most subscribed to musician on YouTube, he isn’t exactly underground, but you probably will never hear him on the radio.
Ronald is a self taught keyboard and mix-master. I honestly don’t understand how he does it, but he makes the coolest craziest sounds and music with his keyboard. I bought his first CD from his CD Store and loved every track. He recently released his second CD called Disorganized Fun (see left) which includes several tracks you can preview on YouTube. If you’re sick of hearing the same Hot100 music on the radio, don’t be a fool, and check out Ronald Jenkees!

How does he do it? By being simply the single greatest living organism this planet ever produced, that’s all. It’s like asking, “How does the wind blow?”.
My friends, that’s all the wind ever does is blow, else it wouldn’t be wind, now, would it? Meditate on this. Ponder it. Lose sleep over it and eventually you will see the light, and the light is this: Ronald Jenkees has come into the world, but the world did not understand. And so he made music and released it on Youtube, so that all would come to know that there’s a new Back Beat Boogie-Woogie in town…and his name is Ronald Jenkees!
Long live the King.
