The props today go out to WordPress for creating such an awesome system for writing blogs. Back in 2001 I ran a really basic webpage for a couple of the computer games I played (mostly Counterstrike, Tribes and NetMech, anyone remember Kali?). That was before blogs were big or even existed really, the internet bubble was still rocking, and the only thing we had to make webpages easily was MS FrontPage.
Over the last 2 or 3 years I’ve become a loyal reader to several blogs which you can find on my blog roll. I was really impressed with how clean the pages looked and all the cool plugins they were using. I have always enjoyed finding cool things on the internet and sharing them with my friends which is how I got the idea for this blog. When I registered my page, I was really worried about my ability to write code and design a visually kickass webpage. After making things more complicated than needed, I have realized WordPress has everything I need built in. There are a plethora of beautiful themes that are extremely hard to decide between and can be previewed, downloaded, and installed from WordPress without having to download or upload anything! Worried about plugins/widgets? No Problem! You can search for the Plugins and Install them and change settings all using WordPress! Honestly, I’m blown away at how user friendly WordPress is. No FTP uploading nonsense, no spending hours in Photoshop. In fact, using Go Daddy hosting, I didn’t even have to install WordPress, it was already there!
Navigating through WordPress is easy. The Dashboard is straightforward, and there are sections for posts, media, links, pages, comments, and tons of tweaking tools. While all the options can be a little overwhelming at first, after you have a few posts under your belt, it is a piece of cake. Don’t let your lack of computer knowledge hold you back and start your own blog using WordPress!
If this post inspired you to start a blog and leave a comment, so I can check it out!

Summer – WordPress is awesome for sure. It seems like even for non-blog sites, you could easily use it to edit. Other than ehow what sites do you have?
